RACISM

OR WHAT I UNDERSTAND BY IT

Kudzanai Chirai. Minister of Enterprise (2009)

What I understand by the term racism is discrimination against any race of people based on their physical attributes or cultural expressions, especially if it is believed that there is a superior race of people whom all other races should be measured against in a bid for humanity. The humanitarian project is one that respects the rich diversity of all human forms and the cultural spectrum of all human expression.

Ultimately regarding race relations in the UK this means that us black people have the right to express ourselves in whatever way is sensible to our minds (as long as it doesn't cause harm to others) instead of having to conform to white cultural norms. We must understand that cultural racism is the 21st century enemy that haunts us and we must challenge it with our raw human passion and belief.  The alternative is to continue to pamper the ego of the irrational bully thus contradicting the humanitarian project of love, that is, we must love ourselves so that our enemies can begin to learn to love us too.

This is the difference between the US and the UK, a process which has finally led to African blood running through the veins of the White House.
